BUD IS OUT

Okay - forgot to post - for all of you out there who actually wonder what is going on with Bud - he is OUT OF THE HOSPITAL - and has been out 7 days at the end of the 29th! That is good. After 7 dialysis treatments Bud is doing well and his kidneys are functioning again. Once he regains his youthful figure he says he will be ready to join one and all in fun and games.

Bud diagnosis

I found out that I had the wrong name for what the docs say is the issue for Bud's renal failure. It is not microglobulin - it is Myoglobin. Here is what it says in the textbook: Myoglobin is released from damaged muscle tissue (rhabdomyolysis), which has very high concentrations of myoglobin. The released myoglobin is filtered by the kidneys but is toxic to the renal tubular epithelium and so may cause acute renal failure.[9]

so now we are in dialysis. please keep bud in your prayers.

repetition, repetition

SO... back in the hospital yet again - as of Saturday. Seems like the same old thing, but with new faces and a new panorama of thoughts and views. Maybe a changing of the guards is a good thing - a fresh perspective may be just what Bud needs. The food choices haven't changed though - nor has the same old, same old, of hospital routine. BUT there is a slight plus for anyone coming to see him - - - he is in the TOWER this time - much shorter walk from the parking ramp. Bud doesn't reap that benefit, but it is a definite positive for me - and even such a small highlight is still a good thing. But poor old Max....
